CLEAN CLIMBER Foundation details
The board
The board consists of the following members:
Karin Haverhoek-Mieremet – chairwoman
‘I’m Karin and I am climbing since 2014. I love the social, mindful and outdoor aspects of climbing and that is one of the reasons I’m involved as a board member of the Clean Climber Foundation. With our contribution, I hope that future generations will still be able to enjoy the beautiful aspects of the sport, while simultaneously the footprint we leave on earth as a sport in general will be diminished.’
Wouter Hurkmans – treasurer
‘Although born in a flat country, I grew up spending every summer and winter with the magical beauty of the French, Austrian and Italian Alps… where I learned the values of living in harmony with nature. Since the age of about twenty I become more focussed on rock climbing where I met Gerard and joined Clean Climber. The Foundation brings people in good spirit together and works in real solutions that have a great positive impact on nature and society: that’s something that matters.’
Ico Kloppenburg – notary
‘In 1983 I fell in love with the mountains and started my life long relationship with the great sport of climbing. It’s part of my identity and I love to share it with other people. With Clean Climber I hope to spread the values of respect for our planet and each other. Nothing beats seeing the spark of enthusiasm in the eyes of the people I meet climbing, indoors and out there in the arms of mother nature. Let’s make sure we cherish that and make it possible for future generations too.’

Clean Climber: a foundation with ANBI status
We are excited to announce that since January 6th 2020 the Clean Climber Foundation has received the ANBI status from the Dutch government. So what is that?
Organisations with the ANBI status serve a goal that is for the greater good. Organisations with this status need to fulfil certain requirements. For example the board needs to consist of at least 3 members and financial and year reports need to be publicly accessible. Everything you want to know about ANBI organisations can be found here.
For supporters of us, this means that you can have more insight in our plans and finances.
For donators, this means that gifts are tax deductible for Dutch citizens/companies and also for most European citizens/companies. See more information about that here (in Dutch).
For any questions regarding our ANBI status, please contact us.
